Argentina Ski Tour Guides

Our Team

Adam Stern

Growing up in Winthrop, Washington, skiing has always been a part of Adam's life. He learned to ski at the age of three when his father, a local ski patroller, would take him to work with him. A ski instructor at the age of 15, Adam has many years of professional experience and training and has been an off-piste guide in Argentina since 2005. Adam is also a film major from the University of Colorado and worked for Warren Miller Entertainment from 2001-2005. He now lives permanently in Mendoza and can't think of any logical reason to ever leave.

Myfanwy Turner

Born in Buenos Aires, Myfanwy has lived in France, Britain and New York. She graduated from Cardiff University and has a BA in French and Politics. She has been involved in the tourism industry since graduating and decided to move back to Argentina to be close to her family who live in Mendoza and are involved in the wine and ski business.

Nicolas Garcia

Backcountry Logistics

Nicolas, born and raised in Mendoza, is an avid climber and outdoors journalist. With his  expert knowledge of the local mountains, Nicolas organizes all of our logistics for the off-piste tours. Nicolas has climbed many of the mountains in the Mendoza Andes range including Aconcagua, Tupungato (the first largest peak and one of the highest volcanos outside of the Himalayas), Plomo, Penitentes as well as many ascents in the Plata range. He has extensive training in mountain rescue and is also the author of  the trekking guide “Mendoza Paths of Adventure”.

Adalina Odriozola

Adelina worked as a ski instructor at S.C. de Bariloche from 2004 until 2008, when she decided to leave the southern ski region of Argentina to explore the higher ranges of Mendoza’s Andes. As with so many others, there was no going back. In Mendoza she has summited numerous peaks including Aconcagua and, like everyone else at Oso Loco, is a true and dedicated professional.

Fiona Hargreaves

Originally from a small farming town in New Zealand, Fiona has been skiing for 23 years and snowboarding for 13. Fiona studied Education and Psychology in the University of Otago, New Zealand, and has since combined her passion for the outdoors, education and travel to become a ski and snowboard instructor. As well as teaching in Niseko, Japan, her New Zealand career included work at Hutt Methven and the children’s ski school at Mammoth mountain. She was also the winner of the the bronze medal in the Olympus Cup ski championship. Fiona has been living in Argentina for over a year, in a small farm close to Mendoza city, where you will most definitely find her outdoors.
